Milford Zornes

Milford Zornes, "Laguna Shoreline," watercolor, 1957; from the collection of Andreas and Mike Kypriandes. I'm sorry to read, this am. in the Los Angeles Times, that Mr. Zornes died. I was able to see a great watercolor exhibition of his last year in Pasadena.

  1. Gosh, I would have loved to have seen this in person---it would have taught me a lot about painting water! Lucky you to have seen that retrospective.

  2. I saw his exhibit at the Riverside Art Museum several times last month. I was in awe! I couldn't make it to his appearance there one Saturday and heard he might not show up because he had fallen that morning. I'm sorry to hear he died. he'd just turned 100years old. The exhibit runs through March 29th....it is facinating!

What a gorgeous painting. I'd heard of him for years but only just saw his work in a magazine article a few months ago. How wonderful to have been able to paint for so many years!
