  2. Oh, gosh this is exquisite!

Do you know, the bit I love best, that lends a total airy feel to it and oddly, realism is that bit in the centre, behind the turned back husks, where the light on the cob almost blends into the light of the background. Magic!

There's something terribly poignant about this painting. I get a sense of loneliness and despair -- like it truly is the last of the summer corn and it knows it. Or maybe I'm just projecting because I know it and I'm sad that summer is over? But still it has a somber and almost discarded look to it.

Jana, that is great! I love it being somber and discarded. I know that most of my work has a feeling of loneliness and despair in it, which I used to strive to get across, along with anxiety, now it comes without trying. (I am a fun person though!)

  7. I agree with Jana. There seems to be more there than just a beautiful little painting of corn.
