Milford Zornes

Milford Zornes, "Laguna Shoreline," watercolor, 1957; from the collection of Andreas and Mike Kypriandes. I'm sorry to read, this am. in the Los Angeles Times, that Mr. Zornes died. I was able to see a great watercolor exhibition of his last year in Pasadena.

Snow on the San Gabriels out front of my house.
A collage of an eggplant from my latest drive on pass. The Jim Henson Co. is on the original Charlie Chaplin lot in Hollywood, and the coolest studio I've seen.
Ruby red grapefruits are in season and make great margaritas. There are some amazingly sweet ones at Trader Joes.

day off

I actually took a day off from painting fairies last weekend to see the big surf and the great UC Davis ultimate frisbee team in Santa Barbara. In the upper right hand corner of the weather reports, there is always the wave height information and it's usually 2-4 ft. Today it was 6-8ft. - alot of surfers were out.
This tree is the same tree I painted years ago for Carpinteria State Beach painting. (link on right), although the tree and beach have changed. The beach was completely pastel.

a couple of drawings

it's a bit odd that my only two good drawings are sort of the same view. I think it's because I couldn't see her head. These are 3 minute, but I tried to treat them as 1 minute drawings.

Happy new year. My main personal goal this year is to find animation work in another country.
If anyone knows of any, my resume is on the Creative Talent Network link on the sidebar.
I'm excited for the new year, new president by the end of it, and many wishes for great new beginnings to all of my friends.
